Amigos Spanish Club
Learning Spanish is as easy as uno, dos, tres! Current research has found a positive link between learning a second language and cognitive and academic ability. In addition to developing a lifelong skill to communicate with people from other countries and backgrounds, other benefits include improved overall school performance and higher problem-solving skills. In Afterschool Amigos Spanish club, children will learn numbers, colors, shapes, greetings, days of the week and more. We will be singing, clapping, and counting our way towards learning the Spanish language. No previous knowledge of Spanish is necessary.

Future Athletes Academy - Spring
Future Athletes Academy is BRAND NEW and ONE OF A KIND. This class is what to do before official teams and/or activities start for your child. This class is offered for current kindergarten and 1st grade students for the 2024-25 school year. The premise of Future Athletes Academy is to give boys and girls an opportunity to learn and develop skills, strength, agility, and coordination (and more!) in a fun and rewarding environment. Future Athletes Academy is taught by Gary Chapp. Gary has taught elementary physical education in Utica Community Schools for 25 years and has coached 55+ different seasons in his 25 years as a coach in youth, junior high, and high school athletics. Future Athletes Academy is not specific to one, single sport. Instead, this class is designed to teach and develop skills and concepts that translate to most sports and activities - it’s like a head start for your “Future Athlete”. Because children inherently enjoy physical activity and challenges, this class is also perfect for just about any student this age. Skills and concepts being taught include: movement; agility; strength; hand-eye coordination; balance; throwing; tossing; rolling; tracking; catching; soccer dribbling and kicking; basketball dribbling and shooting; hand striking; striking with equipment; teamwork; sportsmanship; personal best; and more! With so much to cover, Future Athletes Academy is divided into 3 sessions throughout the school year – Fall, Winter, and Spring. Each session will follow a similar format but will include different learning opportunities. Wear workout clothes and gym shoes.
