Utica Dance Center: Hip Hop 02

HIP-HOP This is the second session for HIP-HOP. Hip-Hop is a high energy class that has its roots in street dance and uses Popular Pop and Hip-Hop music to create a fun atmosphere! Classes focus on rhythms, personal expression, and dynamic movements while improving technique and building confidence. Hip-Hop is a continually evolving style of dance, which is seen in music videos, commercial work, and many social media accounts. Class Information Ages: 5-11 Dress Code: - Comfortable dance attire (Such as: T-shirts, Tank Tops, Dance Pants, Sweatpants, and Joggers) - Shoes (Comfortable athletic shoes; NO Sandals or Slip-ons) POLICIES Parent Viewing: Parents will not be allowed in the classroom during class time as it can become a distraction to our dancers. This policy is for all ages. We will invite parents in to watch at the end of certain classes and let you know ahead of time so that you can be present. Bathroom Policy: Parents of little ones, we ask that you or a designated adult be responsible for all of your child's bathroom needs. Utica Dance Center: Jazz 02

JAZZ 02 This is the second session of JAZZ. One of the most popular and well-known forms of dance, Jazz. It's a fun and high-energy class that includes technique, strength, and flexibility. Our classes will start dancers off with a center floor warmup and stretch, followed by skills done across the floor. Dancers will learn their splits, right and left leaps, beginner jumps, and turns, as well as fun combinations to put all of their new skills together. Older dancers will add to combinations weekly, as well as learn new ones to keep this class at a faster and more upbeat pace. Class Information Ages: 5 - 18 Dress Code: - Shoes (Tan Jazz Shoes - slip-on; please speak with teacher before purchase) - Any form fitting leotard, t-shirt, or tank top and dance pants, shorts, leggings, or capris POLICIES Parent Viewing: Parents will not be allowed in the classroom during class time as it can become a distraction to our dancers. LYRICAL/CONTEMPORARY 02 This is the second session for LYRICAL/CONTEMPORARY. Lyrical/Contemporary is an expressive dance form that combines ballet, jazz, and modern technique. Choreography is focused on self-expression and performance style. Class Information Ages: 08 - 18 Dress Code: - Any form fitting leotard, t-shirt, or tank top. - Dance pants, shorts, leggings, or capris. - Shoes (Nude colored canvas half-sole; Please speak with teacher before purchasing) POLICIES Parent Viewing: Parents will not be allowed in the classroom during class time as it can become a distraction to our dancers. Pom combines strong and sharp arm movements with fast paced dancing to create a dynamic routine! Class Information Ages: 5-11 Dress Code: - Comfortable dance attire (Such as: T-shirts, Tank Tops, Dance Pants, Sweatpants, and Joggers) - Shoes (Comfortable athletic shoes; NO Sandals or Slip-ons) POLICIES Parent Viewing: Parents will not be allowed in the classroom during class time as it can become a distraction to our dancers. TAP 02 This the second session for TAP. Our tap classes will cover rhythm, timing, coordination, and proper tap technique. A mind-to-foot connection will help students progress to get them ready for our future Intermediate Classes. Students will learn basic technical skills, such as shuffles, flaps, paradiddles, pickups, and cramp rolls. They will also learn how to listen to and understand the music as it connects with the sounds of their taps. Velocity Jr
The mission of Velocity Jr. is to provide relevant, hands on learning experiences in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics (S.T.E.A.M) to Preschool - sixth grade students of Utica Community Schools. Velocity Jr. instills 21st century skills derived from innovative, hands on curriculum through the utilization of differentiated learning modalities, while providing a stimulating, engaging, and collaborative community. Refund Policy Unless otherwise indicated, refunds will be the amounts of tuition less a $5.00 processing fee. Refunds will be granted if cancellations are requested 7 days prior to the start of classes minus the $5.00 processing fee. Material, book, and disk fees will not be refunded. VIDEO GAME DEVELOPMENT This course introduces students to the fundamentals of video game development, blending creativity, storytelling, and technical skills. Students will learn about game design concepts such as mechanics, level design, character creation, and user experience. Using beginner-friendly game engines like Scratch, Unity, or Godot, participants will gain hands-on experience in coding, asset creation, and game prototyping. The course emphasizes problem-solving, teamwork, and iterative design, guiding students through the process of turning their ideas into playable games. By the end, students will have a deeper understanding of the game development process and its creative potential. Final Projects or Artifacts: Students will create a functional video game prototype, complete with a unique concept, basic mechanics, and playable levels. The project will include a written game design document detailing the storyline, gameplay mechanics, and artistic vision. A recorded playthrough or demonstration of the game will showcase their skills and creativity as budding game developers.

SACC is a multi-age program for students in Kindergarten through sixth grade. All UCS child care programs are licensed by the State of Michigan Department of Health and Human Services. We offer: Before and After School Child Care Break Camps Summer Camp Registration for the 2025-2026 School Year - Please read all the information below before registering. Registration will open on Monday, July 14 at 7:00am. How to register for the SACC sites available for AM and PM Care. For AM Care (if available) you will select and register at your child's school. For PM Care, you will select and register for the location that your child will be attending SACC, which may not be their school location. For example: Graebner students needing PM care would register at Havel PM SACC. Non-Refundable Registration Fee $60 per child / $75 per family Absences will be charged at the regular rate for sessions a child is scheduled to attend. Student’s schedule for the entire school year is required during registration. Once the schedule is submitted and approved, the account owner is accepting responsibility for payment of scheduled days. Schedule change requests will only be accepted during designated weeks. Tuition payments are billed and charged the Friday prior to care. Young Rembrandts Session 1: YR students will have fun learning to draw colorful compositions using creative patterns and designs. The session will kick-off with a drawing of a detailed GUMBALL machine. We will then progress to a realistic DRAGONFLY drawing. A colorful EGYPTIAN HEADDRESS will be the focus of our Art History lesson. Yahoo!! This session features CARTOON drawings too! Discover the beauty of ART via Young Rembrandts. Session 2: YR classes offer all-new, exciting projects this fall. A globe-trotting koala, a video game-inspired still life, and a playful nutcracker are all in the line-up. We'll even create a silly squid dressed as a holiday tree! This class features cartoon drawings too! Every lesson strengthens your child's focus, fine motor skills, and creativity. Have Fun Learning while Drawing with Young Rembrandts!

REFUND POLICY: Please contact the Community Education office regarding all class concerns or refund requests. A full refund is guaranteed only if UCS cancels a class. Unless otherwise indicated, refunds will be the amount of tuition minus a $5.00 processing fee. Refunds will be granted only if cancellations are requested seven days prior to the exact start date of class, minus the $5.00 processing fee. If a refund is requested less than seven days prior to the exact start date of the class, you will receive a credit voucher to your account minus the $5.00 processing fee that will need to be used for another class offered by Community Education by June 30th of the current year. Supplies, trophies, T- shirts, etc. will not be refunded. If a class is cancelled, a full refund will be issued back to the original form of payment. No refunds will be paid in cash. No refunds will be given once classes/camps begin. Classes/camps will not be pro-rated if participant is unable to attend class for any circumstance. There are no refunds or make up dates for cancelled sessions due to inclement weather or building closures. All returned checks are subject to a $25 processing fee. NOTIFICATION OF CLASSES: In the event of cancellation or change to the class/camp you or your child are enrolled in you will be notified by an email, phone, or text using the email and phone number listed in your Eleyo account. Please check the location and date of your selected class prior to the start date. If the school is closed for any reason, classes will not be held. There will be no make-up dates or refunds for classes cancelled due to inclement weather or building closure. There will be no make-up classes or refunds for classes if participants are unable to attend.

This eight week introductory class is a great way for children to discover what it is like to play the piano. Students will benefit by using out "Piano Lab System", which will help them to focus on learning the basics of playing the piano in a fun group setting. Rental instruments are available for all classes. $10.00 plus tax book fee due at the first session, payment will be taken at the studio.
