  • 7th/8th Grade Falcon Juniors Strength & Conditioning Camp

    This camp utilizes over $70,000 in all new weight room equipment from Rogue Fitness & Rogers Athletic, along with a newly renovated Indoor Athletic Training Center. The sessions are directed by Matthew Browe and Christina Johnson, Head and Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coaches at Henry Ford II High School. This camp will focus on foundational strength training, fundamental movements, proper warm up and mobility that will lead athletes to achieve success throughout their High School careers.

  • Amigos Spanish Club

    Learning Spanish is as easy as uno, dos, tres! Current research has found a positive link between learning a second language and cognitive and academic ability. In addition to developing a lifelong skill to communicate with people from other countries and backgrounds, other benefits include improved overall school performance and higher problem-solving skills. In Afterschool Amigos Spanish club, children will learn numbers, colors, shapes, greetings, days of the week and more. We will be singing, clapping, and counting our way towards learning the Spanish language. No previous knowledge of Spanish is necessary.

    Basketball Skills Camp by CHAMP Camps is a 3-session camp for girls and boys designed to introduce, reinforce, and enhance age-appropriate basketball skills. This is a non-contact camp, and all sessions will be indoors. Wear workout clothes and gym shoes. This camp is taught by Gary Chapp. Gary has taught elementary physical education in Utica Community Schools for 25 years and has coached 55+ different seasons in his 25 years as a coach in youth, junior high, and high school athletics. Skills and concepts being taught include: dribbling; bounce pass; chest pass; receiving passes; set/jump shot; layups; pivoting; basic offensive concepts like moving without the ball, head fakes, & ball fakes; basic defensive strategies; rebounding & more. Campers can also expect skill-based games or contests during the camp.

  • Certified Babysitter/First Aid and Safe Home Alone

    Learn to be safe and responsible. Build confidence. Have a competitive edge over other babysitters. One-day class. Topics include first aid, when and how to call 911, CPR with manikin practice, choking, and more! Students will also learn how to be safe and responsible when home alone, including what to do if somebody comes to the door and the importance of not giving out personal information. Students who successfully complete the course requirements will receive a certificate of completion for Certified Babysitter/CPR/First Aid course by Live Safe Academy (valid for two years). To be certified students must participate in the entire course from beginning to end and successfully complete all skills. Please note that students must arrive on time to be certified, so please arrive up to 10 minutes early. Parents, this class is for students who are independent and responsible enough to be responsible for the safety and well-being of younger children without adult supervision. Please check in your student at the beginning of class. Drop off and pick up is in the same room as class. This class sometimes ends late, approximately 10 minutes. Bring a snack, pen and paper for notes is optional. No cell phone use during class except during break.

    Develop your child's intellect through the royal game of chess! Current research has shown a strong link between chess and academic performance in a variety of areas, including mathematics and language arts. Chess has been proven to enhance children's motivation, concentration, focus, social skills, and creativity. Each class will consist of a fun, interactive teaching period and guided practice time. Both beginner and experienced players are welcome and will learn under the guidance of an experienced Chess Scholars coach.

Through exploration of classic literature, inspiring writing exercises, creative language games and collaboration, students will explore different genres, learn and practice grammatical concepts, develop their writing skills, and build confidence in their ability to communicate effectively.

    This class focuses on the fundamentals of creating an animated short. Designed to cover 2D and/or 3D animation, students will be able to utilize several skills in their work including frame rate, keyframes, tweeting, easing, character/ puppet design, and basic blocking and movement.

    Grades K-8 Softball Camps: 6024-WS25A (Grades K-8): FIELDING AND SKILL WORK 6024-WS25B (Grades K-8): HITTING, SLAPPING, AND BASE RUNNING Camp focus is to improve softball skills in throwing, catching, and fielding. We will be working on skills for all positions. Camp focus is to improve softball skills in hitting, bunting, slapping, and base running. We will be working on offensive skills.     Flickinger Volleyball Club (5-6 Grade Girls) Goal of Club: Develop skills and empower students who love volleyball. Club will focus on fundamental skills: Passing (bumping), setting, blocking, serving, and sportsmanship/teamwork in a fun environment. During practice sessions, we will complete fun drills and games. Please bring knee pads (if you have them) and a snack (if needed ) to sessions.
