Camp Dates & Times

June 23, 2025 – August 1, 2025 Monday - Friday 8:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. No session on Thurs. 7/3/25 or Fri. 7/4/2025

• The Summer Scholars Program is an instructional school-based program targeting literacy and math intervention for students entering Grades 2-5, with identified needs in literacy and math based upon district benchmark assessments.
• Students will be engaged in comprehensive and meaningful literacy and math instruction using evidenced based practices to address their individual needs.
• The goal of the Summer School Program is to accelerate student growth in literacy and math.
• Transportation will be provided for in-district families. Breakfast and lunch will be provided free of charge for students.
• Program runs Monday through Friday 8:30 – 12:00 p.m. Daily attendance is required for all participating students.

Literacy

Areas of Instruction - Phonological Awareness, Phonics, Comprehension, Fluency, Vocabulary, and Writing

Components of the Literacy Workshop: Literacy Workstations, Whole Group, Small Group, and One-on-One tailored instruction in Reading and Writing

Literacy Framework:

1. Modeled and Shared Reading, Guided Reading, and Independent Reading.
2. Modeled and Shared Writing, Interactive Writing, and Independent Writing.
3. Social Emotional Learning (SEL) – Literacy Mindset 

Mathematics

Area of Instruction – Grade Level Concepts with a focus on number sense and mathematical fluency Math Framework – Number sense routine, activities, games, choice time, and math mindset activities.

Online registration will open on Monday, April 28, 2025, and will close on Friday May 16, 2025. Registration spaces are limited. District Benchmark Assessment results will be considered to determine placement. Placement confirmation will be sent by Friday, May 30, 2025.
