What is online Summer Bridge to Geometry?
This online course extends skills and concepts related to the critical areas of Geometry to better prepare for the 24-25 school year. An online mentor teacher will be available throughout the summer session to address questions students may have while working through the course.
Who should enroll in this course?
Incoming ninth grade students who will be enrolled in Geometry for the Fall of 2024.
How do I register?
Click on the "Enroll now" button on the right side of the screen.
Online registration will open on Monday, April 29, 2024, and will close on Friday, June 14, 2024.
When does the summer session begin?
Classes begin Monday, June 17, 2024, and end Friday, July 26, 2024.
No session on Thursday July 4, 2024, or Friday July 5, 2024.
How will my child receive the information to begin the online course?
Parents will receive their child’s login information via email, from TeachingandLearning@uticak12.org, the week prior to the start of the summer session (June 17, 2024 – June 21, 2024). This email will also include a TEAMS meeting link to join an online session with a mentor teacher and a schedule of the times a mentor teacher will be online for support.
How often should my child work on this course?
The recommendation is at least 2 - 3 hours each day. This is a self-paced, computer-based course. While a mentor teacher is available for assistance, direct instruction is not available. This requires students to be on task and self-motivated.
Is there a cost for this program?
No, this program is supported by grant funds for the summer of 2024.
Will my child need their school computer?
Yes, your student will need to bring their school issued device and charging chord to each session. More information regarding devices will be provided in a follow up email in late May 2024.
Will my student receive a grade for this program?
Your student will not receive a letter grade for this course. Each student will be evaluated at the end of this course.
