2025 Readers and Writers Workshop

What is Readers and Writers Workshop? The Macomb Intermediate School District, in collaboration with Utica Community Schools, is offering a summer school program for incoming 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students. Students will be provided with daily opportunities to read, write, and discuss their ideas with peers. In addition, students will organize their learning in a readers-writers notebook, with the course ending in a culminating multi-genre project based on a particular theme. Who would benefit from this program? Students entering grades 6 – 8 who desire an enrichment type experience to work on reading and writing skills. How do I register? 2025 SAT Preparation Workshop

What is SAT Preparation Workshop? This asynchronous course will provide students with an opportunity to explore the tools available on the College Board Student Portal, the Bluebook digital testing app and the free digital SAT prep courses available through Khan Academy. This UCS SAT Preparation Workshop has been designed to be taken in a variety of ways that suit the unique needs of each individual student and their family. Weekly options will include: Online TEAMS meetings There will be two Teams meetings a week, one on Tuesday and one on Wednesday, for 45 minutes each that students may choose to attend or choose to watch a recording of the meeting or choose to work through the posted material from the meeting asynchronously. There will be a third session every week that will be recorded and posted on Thursday that is meant to be completely asynchronous The course will be taught by two experienced UCS teachers, one certified in English, the other certified in math, and both English and math will be covered each week. Two in-person days offered within the summer schedule. While that material will not be recorded, it will be posted in Schoology for asynchronous work. One of days will focus on math, the other day will focus on English. 2025 Utica Boys Fundamental Basketball Camp

Purpose of the camp: To teach and demonstrate the importance of the fundamentals for the game of basketball. Each camper will receive instruction on the fundamentals of individual and team principles both offensively and defensively. All facets of the game will be demonstrated and practiced daily, including the fundamentals of shooting, rebounding, individual and team defense, and ball handling. Rules and good sportsmanship will be stressed. Staff: Our camp is run by Dave Hinkle, assisted by current and former Chieftain players and coaches. A low camper to instructor ratio will be provided.

2025 Utica/Eisenhower Boy's Summer Lacrosse Camp

2025 UTICA-EISENHOWER HIGH SCHOOL BOYS SUMMER LACROSSE CAMP The Utica/Eisenhower Boys Lacrosse Program is again offering a HS Lacrosse Skills Camp this summer. The 2025 Summer lacrosse camp will be on July 15th and 16th with a focus on the fundamentals, along with practical game situations and competitions. Camp will include offensive, defensive, midfield and goalie skill development. Last year the Utica/Ike Boys Lacrosse camp was run by Charlie Hayes. Coach Hayes was a graduate of Eisenhower HS, played Eisenhower Lacrosse, played D1 Lacrosse at U of D Mercy, and is currently a professional lacrosse player in the Professional Lacrosse League (PLL), as part of the Waterdogs Lacrosse Club. The Boys Summer Lacrosse Camp (July 15th and 16th) is open to 7th - 12th grade players from all UCS middle schools and high schools.

35th Annual Utica Girls Volleyball Camp
Sports Camps
All facets of the game will be demonstrated and practiced daily, including the fundamentals of passing, setting, hitting, offensive and defensive strategies. The rules of the game and good sportsmanship will be stressed throughout the week. Our camp is run by the girl’s volleyball UCS coaching staff, assisted by current and former UCS students. A low camper to instructor ratio will be provided.

Non-Refundable Registration Fee $60 per child / $75 per family Absences will be charged at the regular rate for sessions a child is scheduled to attend. Student’s schedule for the entire school year is required during registration. Once the schedule is submitted and approved, the account owner is accepting responsibility for payment of scheduled days. Schedule change requests will only be accepted during designated weeks. Tuition payments are billed and charged the Friday prior to care. CEC Early Childhood Summer Activities Registration Closes 1 week prior to the start of the activity. Child must be attending Summer Care on the activity day to attend. You must preregister and prepay (if there is a cost) on Eleyo for your child(ren) to attend the activity.
