    Develop your child's intellect through the royal game of Chess! Current research has shown a strong link between chess and academic performance in a variety of areas, including mathematics and language arts. Chess has been proven to enhance children's motivation, concentration, focus, social skills, and creativity. Each class will consist of a fun, interactive teaching period and guided practice time. Both beginner and experienced players are welcome and will learn under the guidance of an experienced Chess Scholar coach.

    From sea creatures of the deep to phoenixes of the sky, every society has its legends and lore. We'll tell their stories through paintings, sculptures and other works of art. These tales may inspire awe, curiosity of surprise, but they all inspire our imaginations! Kids experiment with different art techniques using Crayola® supplies to bring their ideas to life. Each class is all about designing a one-of-a-kind mythical creature.

  • Eisenhower Volleyball Camp

    For Girls Entering Grades 3-9 Learn volleyball skills and agility to help improve your game! This camp will teach the basics necessary to become a successful volleyball player and advanced skills to make you a key athlete. Daily lectures, demonstrations and drill sessions, designed to teach the skills and techniques of competitive volleyball, will be taught. Players are divided according to skill level in order to assist the athlete in developing their full potential through challenging, competitive settings. This camp is under the guidance of an exceptional teaching staff: Caitlin LaPratt, IKE Head Varsity Coach and UCS volleyball players. Camp t-shirt is included (ordered in adult sizes).     This introductory class focuses on promoting a positive first experience with martial arts. Training touches on basic stances, kicking, blocking, punching, and self-defense utilizing self-control while building self-esteem. Class limited to 15 students.

    This year's camp will be 12 hours of fun, hard work, and learning. Camp will cover training on kicks, punches, self-defense, katas, agility drills, obstacle course, board breaking, and so much more! Uniform not required. Wear loose comfortable clothing. Dojo will provide boards, drinks, and snacks.

    Get into shape with this high energy, no contact workout that introduces kickboxing techniques and exercises. Learn the proper way to kick, punch and perform combinations taught by a black belt instructor. This is not an aerobics class, wear loose clothing.   • Pickleball Beginners Clinic

    Youth, Teen, and Adult: Ages 14 and up Dive into the exciting world of pickleball with our immersive beginners clinic, designed to kickstart your journey on the court. Led by our certified pickleball instructor, 3 hour sessions are tailored for individuals who are new to the game or at level 2.0 to 3.0. Each session is a standalone class, so you can attend just one session or as many as you like. In this clinic, you'll receive personalized guidance as we focus on laying a solid foundation of pickleball fundamentals. From understanding the rules of the game to mastering essential strokes like serves, returns, third shots, volleys, dinks, and overheads. Our instructor will provide step-by-step instruction and hands-on practice to help you grasp each concept. With small class sizes limited to 12 students across 3 courts, you'll benefit from individualized attention and ample opportunities to refine your skills. Whether you're a complete beginner or have played a few times but lack confidence, this clinic is designed to equip you with the knowledge and confidence to step onto the court with ease. Comprehensive Beginner 3-Hour Standalone Program Covers: Rules: Introduction to scoring and all essential game rules. Serving and Returning: Understanding grip, purpose, positioning, placement, technique, and basic strategy. Dinking: Exploring the purpose, techniques, strategy, shifting, and communication in dinking. Transitioning from Baseline to Non-Volley Line: Focus on 3rd shot drops and drives to facilitate effective transition. Punch Volleys: Techniques for dealing with aggressive shots and "bangers". Offensive Shots: Introduction to drives, lobs, and overheads. Beginner Drills and Games: Practice sessions and games built around every shot covered above, reinforcing learning in a dynamic and engaging manner. All clinics will be held at the Eisenhower High School tennis courts. The marks on the courts are only a couple of inches off actual pickleball lines, but will not have an impact on the clinic.   • UCS All Stars Summer Train and Play

    Boys and girls, come join the summer fun! Grades K-3 (Fall 2024) Grades 3-6 (Fall 2024-for 3rd graders who can shoot on a regulation hoop of 10 ft.) All sessions held at Shelby Junior High School. Each class focuses on teaching the proper fundamentals of basketball through individual and team drill work. Players will participate in modified game play that focuses on learning the rules of the game and teaching basic game concepts. Coached by JEREMY DENHA and other HFII Basketball Coaches! Jerseys Required All players need to have a black/white reversible UCS All Stars Jersey. If you have already purchased a UCS All Star Jersey in a previous session during the 2023-24 school year: You will register for the class only. If you need a UCS All Star Jersey because you have not participated in a session during the 2023-24 school year: You will need to register for the class including Jersey option. If this option is not chosen and your child has not attended a UCS All Star Camp during the 2023-2024 school year, you will automatically be charged the difference to include the jersey.
  • Utica High Football Camp

    This camp will provide intensive teaching sessions that will develop basic football skills for lower grade level players, with an emphasis on fundamentals, safety, and general understanding of the game of football. Higher level players will be involved in season preparation, while obtaining a jump start on the Utica offense, defense, and special teams. Detailed technique and skills will be emphasized, with each session being mapped out to get the most out of our limited time. Bring your own water bottle.

We'll use different media to create colorful compositions, which help our students strengthen their coloring skills. On the final day, we will create a large drawing with pastels. Challenging drawings reward our students with a greater sense of accomplishment. We will surely chuckle as we draw hilarious cartoon characters of the sea. We'll learn to add expression and movement to bring our sea characters to life in this multi-drawing session. On the final day, campers will create a bigger-than-life graphic cruise ship using the beautiful media of pastels. You will want to frame this one!
