What is online Summer Bridge to Geometry? This online course extends skills and concepts related to the critical areas needed for Geometry to better prepare for the 25-26 school year. Who should enroll in this course? Grade 8 students who will be enrolled in Geometry for the Fall of 2025. How do I register? Go to Home - UCS Community Education (eleyo.com) to register online. Online registration will open on Monday, April 28, 2025, and will close on Friday, June 20, 2025. When does the summer session begin? The online course will be available on Monday, June 23, 2025, and will end on Friday, August 1, 2025. No online support sessions will be available on Thursday July 3, 2025, or Friday July 4, 2025. How will my child receive the information to begin the online course? Parents will receive their child’s login information via email, from their summer school mentor teacher on June 23, 2025. This email will also include a TEAMS meeting link for your child to be able to contact their mentor teacher throughout the summer schedule between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. How often should my child work on this course? The recommendation is at least 1 - 2 hours each day. This is a 20-day self-paced, computer-based course. While a mentor teacher is available for assistance, direct instruction is not available. This requires students to be on task and self-motivated. Is there a cost for this program? No, this program is supported by grant funds for the summer of 2025. Will my child need their school computer? Your child will need access to a computer, preferably their UCS issued student device. If your child does not have their UCS student device due to end-of-the year turn-in, information regarding device pick-up will be provided in a follow-up email in late May 2025. Will my child receive a grade for this program? Your child will not receive a letter grade for this course.

Utica Community Schools is pleased to offer a hybrid summer opportunity. Students in grades 9-11 will use a nationally accredited online learning system in order to restore credit towards their high school graduation requirements. The hybrid format is a self-paced, computer-based course. While a teacher is available for assistance, direct instruction is not available. This requires students to be on task and self-motivated. Students will register for 1 course at a time that they did not receive credit for. Additional classes may be taken if time permits. Students must attend 1 full in-person orientation session with their mentor teacher to receive login information and program expectations. It is strongly encouraged for students to attend the first week of summer school sessions. Students need to report to an in-person session for all tests and final exams. Students must earn a minimum overall score of 60% to receive a letter grade and credit for the course. Each student will be assigned a mentor teacher who will be their point of contact for any issues that may arise during the course. Teachers are available on-site Monday through Friday. Online courses for NCAA eligibility will be available upon request. Be sure to contact your counselor prior to signing up for summer school. Who would benefit from this program?
