What is online Summer Bridge to Algebra I? This online course extends skills and concepts related to the critical areas needed for Algebra I to better prepare for the 25-26 school year. Who should enroll in this course? Grade 6 students who received communication from their school stating the student will/may be enrolled in Algebra I in the Fall of 2025. Advanced Math 7 students wanting to review content and prepare for Algebra I in the Fall of 2025. Math 7 students with a desire to advance in their mathematics pathway to Algebra I in the Fall of 2025, must successfully complete the skills assigned on their IXL dashboard to qualify for placement into Algebra I. Utica Community Schools is pleased to offer a hybrid summer opportunity. Students in grades 9-11 will use a nationally accredited online learning system in order to restore credit towards their high school graduation requirements. The hybrid format is a self-paced, computer-based course. While a teacher is available for assistance, direct instruction is not available. This requires students to be on task and self-motivated. Students will register for 1 course at a time that they did not receive credit for. Additional classes may be taken if time permits. Students must attend 1 full in-person orientation session with their mentor teacher to receive login information and program expectations. It is strongly encouraged for students to attend the first week of summer school sessions. Students need to report to an in-person session for all tests and final exams. Students must earn a minimum overall score of 60% to receive a letter grade and credit for the course. 2025 SAT Preparation Workshop

What is SAT Preparation Workshop? This asynchronous course will provide students with an opportunity to explore the tools available on the College Board Student Portal, the Bluebook digital testing app and the free digital SAT prep courses available through Khan Academy. This UCS SAT Preparation Workshop has been designed to be taken in a variety of ways that suit the unique needs of each individual student and their family. Weekly options will include: Online TEAMS meetings There will be two Teams meetings a week, one on Tuesday and one on Wednesday, for 45 minutes each that students may choose to attend or choose to watch a recording of the meeting or choose to work through the posted material from the meeting asynchronously. There will be a third session every week that will be recorded and posted on Thursday that is meant to be completely asynchronous The course will be taught by two experienced UCS teachers, one certified in English, the other certified in math, and both English and math will be covered each week. Two in-person days offered within the summer schedule. While that material will not be recorded, it will be posted in Schoology for asynchronous work. One of days will focus on math, the other day will focus on English.
