VIDEO GAME DEVELOPMENT This course introduces students to the fundamentals of video game development, blending creativity, storytelling, and technical skills. Students will learn about game design concepts such as mechanics, level design, character creation, and user experience. Using beginner-friendly game engines like Scratch, Unity, or Godot, participants will gain hands-on experience in coding, asset creation, and game prototyping. The course emphasizes problem-solving, teamwork, and iterative design, guiding students through the process of turning their ideas into playable games. By the end, students will have a deeper understanding of the game development process and its creative potential. FINAL PROJECT OR ARTIFACTS Students will create a functional video game prototype, complete with a unique concept, basic mechanics, and playable levels. The project will include a written game design document detailing the storyline, gameplay mechanics, and artistic vision. A recorded playthrough or demonstration of the game will showcase their skills and creativity as budding game developers. Please Note: Your child MUST attend the school where the class is being held. There will be no classes held on half-days or holidays. Classes that do not meet established minimums will have to be cancelled (full refund will be issued). Please register early to avoid cancelled classes! All classes are offered at a flat rate and are not subject to proration.
