VIDEO GAME DEVELOPMENT

This course introduces students to the fundamentals of video game development, blending creativity, storytelling, and technical skills. Students will learn about game design concepts such as mechanics, level design, character creation, and user experience. Using beginner-friendly game engines like Scratch, Unity, or Godot, participants will gain hands-on experience in coding, asset creation, and game prototyping. The course emphasizes problem-solving, teamwork, and iterative design, guiding students through the process of turning their ideas into playable games. By the end, students will have a deeper understanding of the game development process and its creative potential. 

Final Projects or Artifacts: 

Students will create a functional video game prototype, complete with a unique concept, basic mechanics, and playable levels. The project will include a written game design document detailing the storyline, gameplay mechanics, and artistic vision. A recorded playthrough or demonstration of the game will showcase their skills and creativity as budding game developers.
