Who would benefit from this program?

Students who are invited to attend to prepare for their enrollment into GLK-UAIS in the Fall of 2025-2026 school year.

What is Jump Start to GLK-UAIS

• This is a two-week teacher-led, classroom-based instruction for summer school.
• Instruction will focus on the essential skills necessary for success at GLK-UAIS
  • Reading and writing across all subject areas
  • Collaboration and public speaking skills
  • Study skills including note-taking, comprehension strategies, and learning styles

How do I register?

Online registration will open on Monday, April 28, 2025, and will close on Friday, June 20, 2025.

When does the summer session begin?

Classes begin Monday, July 7, 2025, and end Friday July 18, 2025.

Will transportation be provided?

Yes, information will be provided in an email prior to the start of the summer session.

What is the daily schedule for the summer session?

Will my child have homework to complete for this course?

No, all work will be completed during class time.

Is there a cost for this program?

No, this program is supported by grant funds for the summer of 2025.

Will my child need their school computer?

Your child will need access to a computer, preferably their UCS issued student device.

If your child does not have their UCS student device due to end-of-the year turn-in, information regarding device pick-up will be provided in a follow-up email in late May 2025.

Will my student receive a grade for this program?

No, grades will not be given for this course.
